In 2009, my son’s girlfriend gifted him a beautiful brindle boxer puppy, full of energy with the goofiest personality whom they named Brodie. A year later, they broke up and she took Brodie with her. A couple of years later, my son mentioned to his now wife how much he missed Brodie. She felt it would be a good idea to find him a dog that would fill the emptiness Brodie left. So she searched for a boxer dog and came across a Craigslist ad that caught her eye. It mentioned a boxer dog named Brodie which she thought was strange – another boxer named Brodie? It was not a typical name for a dog so she contacted the owner and asked how long she had Brodie and who the previous owner was. She came to find out that this was the same Boxer that was once taken from my son! So she picked him up and surprised my son with his old dog, Brodie!! But because they lived in a condo and Brodie was no longer a puppy, he needed more space and came to live with me in my house with a big back yard. I remember him exploring the interior of the house and when we let him out to the back yard, he was so excited to have a place to run freely. He was so happy! Brodie was finally home! We had him for 9 short years. We cared and loved him more than he ever knew. We still love him and miss him every day. Within those 9 years, we adopted Bailey (see Bailey’s story), another boxer that became Brodie’s best friend. We spoiled them and loved them both more than words can say. They are so special and changed our lives with their unconditional love. Bailey and Brodie opened up our hearts to love animals and the desire to help less fortunate animals was born. Brodie and Bailey are the reason why this Organization was created.
